The Pullars






Winemaker Michael Pullar is a practicing Neurosurgeon in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, it is his neurological background that spawned Limbic’s curious name. While neurosurgery may seem a  peculiar background for the wine industry, Michael hails from a strong horticultural background, his family have operated orchards in Murray River district for over four generations. Despite his different vocational direction, Michael yearned to return to the land and a longstanding dream of producing quality fruit and wine.

Jennifer has enjoyed the change from her established nursing career to growing and making wine. Growing up in Adelaide, Jenny spent much of her youth visiting the surrounding wine regions and cultivating her love for food and wine. Jenny recently studied wine marketing at NMIT and has a genuine passion for the “slow food movement”. Jenny hopes to bring the slow food experience to people through the Limbic Cellar door.

Jenny’s brother Robert, the driving force behind Limbic’s move to biodynamic viticulture, manages the vineyard. Originally involved in farming the Eyre Penisula in South Australia, and the building industry in Adelaide, he is delighted to be again working with the land in the vineyard. Robert’s love for fishing guided by the tides and moon cycles, strongly influenced the decision to adopt biodynamic farming practices.
